Newsroom 01/06/2011 | 07:57

The Professional Volunteer program will take place between September 2011 and February 2012 and will consist in projects in education, health and family abandonment prevention, as well as programs dedicated to children and the elderly. The volunteers’ salaries will be insured by Vodafone and will amount to the volunteers’ most recent salaries in their line of work.

Fifteen people, among which three Vodafone employees, will have the chance of working for six months in a Romanian NGO. Candidates must obtain the agreement of the NGO that they opt for, prepare a project, then fill up the entry form here. Submissions may be entered by June 14, the latest. Finalists will be selected by the board of the Vodafone Foundation.

The Professional Volunteer program was launched in 2002 on a global level by the Vodafone foundation and is currently being developed in 17 countries, where it has reached a total of 700 volunteers. In Romania, the program was started last year and gathered over 500 registrations, of whom 12 finalists were selected.
