Artmark auction house will put 30 works from the private collections of George Ivascu, publicist and historian, and Tiberiu Puica, actor and avid collector, under the hammer. The pieces that will be up for grabs were painted by artists such as Stefan Luchian, Iosif Iser, Samuel Mützner, Hans Mattis-Teutsch, Theodor Pallady, Octav Angheluta and Mircea Ciobanu, to name just a few.

The auction will showcase a foremost work by Romanian painter Stefan Luchian (1868-1916), probably his last major painting to still be part of a private collection. Macii (The Poppies) is one of Luchian’s later pieces. It has an estimated value of EUR 150,000- 200,000.

The works included in the auction will be displayed until April 29 in a special exhibition. The actual bidding will take place in the Nicolae Grigorescu room of the Intercontinental Hotel on April 29.
