Photography exhibit of exterior mural church painting at Romanian Peasant Museum

The Institute of Cultural Memory (CIMEC – Institutul de Memorie Culturala) and the Romanian Peasant Museum (Muzeul Taranului Roman) are organizing the photography exhibit Churches with Exterior Mural Painting from Oltenia, starting January 12, at 17.00, in the Foyer Hall.

The exterior mural painting of churches from Oltenia (dating from the 18^th – 19^th century) is considered to be an unique artistic phenomenon of the late Post Byzantine art, now so rare in Europe. The exhibit also contains a series of cultural landmarks and aspects from the daily life in Oltenia.

The exhibit is open by January 30, from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9:00 and 17:00. The museum is located on Soseaua Kiseleff 3.
