A play about the last living hours of communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife, Elena, may be forbidden from going ahead if a legal challenge by their surviving son is successful, according to AFP. The last living child of the dictator and his wife, Valentin Ceausescu, has informed the press agency of his intention to go to court seeking a ban on Ceausescu’s Last Hours.

The play premiered last year at the Odeon Theater. It is a reconstruction of events surrounding the trial and execution of the Ceausescus, and has already been performed in Bucharest, Berlin and Zurich. According to the plaintiff’s lawyer, the name Ceausescu was registered as a brand two years ago, and can no longer be used for commercial purposes without approval.
