Newly built concert venue Zone Arena to be demolished

In spite of the local need for more spacious concert venues, Zone Arena is going to be demolished at the behest of the local city hall. The stands and stage have already begun to be dismantled after Neculai Ontanu, Sector 2 mayor, publicly requested SC Arena Invest SRL to demolish all the Zone Arena constructions as they lack the necessary authorizations.

The local city hall announced on Wednesday that people living in the neighborhood of the venue had filed complaints regarding noise pollution, street obstruction and the destruction of green spaces, especially after 22.00. Since its launch in May, Zone Arena has hosted concerts by Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Massive Attack, Faithless, Pink Martini, Gary Moore and The Cranberries.
