Newsroom 18/02/2008 | 16:12

The audio guide is part of a wider series of new projects which are meant to improve services offered to the public and facilitate understanding of the works of art displayed in the museum by offering visitors, Romanians and foreigners alike, easier access to information. The portable device will allow visitors to go through the galleries at their own pace, without programming in advance. Information on the exhibits will be very easy to access and follow as it is presented as a story. It will touch on the exhibits, artists, period of time, and context. No appointment will be required. Besides Romanian, the audio guide will also be be available in French and English. Therefore, over the long term, the portable audio guide is expected to increase the number of visitors.
The portable audio guide is a device that museums in other European countries have provided for some years, however, in Romania its acquisition required a prolonged effort in order to acquire the necessary funds.
