“MAMMA MIA!” – the largest musical in Romania goes on national tour

After the resounding success of last year, “MAMMA MIA!” – designated “Show of the Year 2018” in Romania, returns on a national tournament in 9 major cities in the country. The same line-up, the same grand montage, the same emotions and intense experiences make the ABBA band’s immortal songs resonate in a romantic story, sprinkled with intrigue, humor and sensitivity.

If you’ve seen the movie, you have to experience the live version of the love stories going over generations. If you haven’t seen the movie, then you have another reason to watch one of the largest musical productions in Romania!

The national tour will start on October 26 in Constanta, will continue with two other special performances on October 30 and 31 at the Palace Hall in Bucharest, followed by Pitesti – on November 1, Targu Mures – November 4, on November 6 – Cluj Napoca, on November 7 – Brasov, December 13 – Bacau, December 14 – Piatra Neamt, and December 15 at the Polyvalent Hall in Iasi.

Tickets for the shows in the “MAMMA MIA!” national tour can be purchased online, through iabilet.ro and mammamiathemusical.ro, or from Flanco, Diverta and Carturesti stores in each host city, at prices that vary according to ticket category and extra benefits.

Loredana, Horia Brenciu, Aurelian Temisan, Cornel Ilie, Anca Sigartau, Anca Turcasiu, Adrian Nour, Ernest Fazekas, Ecaterina Ladin, Ana Munteanu, Ioana Sihota, Sebastian Seredinschi, Bianca Purcarea and Silviu Mircescu will play complex musical roles: they will sing, dance and interpret the roles that make up this complex story about love, friendship and reunification. Staged by director Razvan Ioan Dinca, the production brings the audience a spectacular choreography, no less than 200 costumes for the 17 stage numbers and over 20 songs by ABBA, translated and adapted into Romanian by Ernest Fazekas.

“MAMMA MIA! is the musical that the whole family can enjoy, a wonderful love story for mothers and daughters. The show doesn’t just express my own memories and emotions, but those of several generations. This wonderful and complex role is a challenge, but I really like it. There are three intense hours of singing, dancing and acting, and beyond the eyes of the audience is a champion’s training. In addition, there are very few occasions where we gather so many artists from different generations on the same stage, with a unique purpose: to delight the audience together!” says Loredana.

Watched by over 60 million people from 50 countries and designated as the Show of the Year in 2018 in Romania, “MAMMA MIA!” will be staged with an exceptional cast in each city, including the most dedicated and beloved Romanian artists.

“MAMMA MIA!” presents the story of Sophie, a young woman on the eve of her wedding, who wants to meet her birth father and have him lead her to the altar. But there are three possibilities, so she decides to invite all three men from her mother’s romantic past to the small Greek island, without revealing their motive. Things take completely unexpected turns, creating many fun but also exciting moments that will delight the audience!

Every day, there are at least 7 “MAMMA MIA!” shows and thousands of performances played in hundreds of countries, on six continents. The musical “MAMMA MIA!” was released in 1999 in London’s West End, and then in the United States, on Broadway. Playwright Catherine Johnson and producer Judy Craymer created this show based on songs by Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, former members of the ABBA band. Due to its success, the story was adapted for the big screen in 2008, with Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgård in the lead roles, and in 2018 the movie “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” was released.
