The Bucharest Opera house will host on September 28 a live broadcast of the opera Faust from the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. The HD satellite transmission of Charles Gounod’s Faust will start at 21.00. Access is allowed until 20.45. The price of a ticket is RON 45.
The event will push the scheduled Artmark yearly Romanian impressionism and post impressionism art bid to Thursday September 29.
This first broadcast from Covent Garden will allow Romanian audiences in Bucharest and Timisoara, the two cities where the opera is transmitted, to see Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu as Margareta, together with Vittorio Grigolo as Faust, René Pape as Mefisto, Michèle Losier as Siebel, Daniel Grice as Wagner and Dmitri Hvorostovsky as Valentin. Evelino Pido is the conductor.
The Timisoara broadcast is held in the aula of the Central University Library Eugen Tudoran. Tickets can be bought from the Bucharest Opera House in between 9.00 and 13.00 and 15.00 and 19.00, and from the Timis cinema in Timisoara.
The event is the first in a series to be organized by the Bucharest Opera House in partnership with other lyrical theaters in the world such as the Bolshoi Teatr, Arena di Verona, La Fenice theater in Venice, San Carlo theater in Napoli, the Scala in Milano, the Paris Opera.
