“I believe there are women in Romania who know how to wear a hat – and I am not talking only about the ladies who have had the chance to experience the elegance of Little Paris. I think there are even in our generation women who have the poise, grace and audacity to wear special hats even on everyday occasions. I wish to provoke these young ladies through the design of these hats. I have created this collection for them,” said Dragomir. Under the motto “Tell me a story,” each hat created by Dragomir has its own story to tell.
Each of them provides insight into the world of fashion and illustrates a moment from the past, often reinterpreting old fashion trends. Dragomir tells the story of the top hat which in the 19th century was only worn by men and the mignon hat that partially hides the eyes, a symbol of fantasy and coquetry. The collection also contains the hat that created the image of the sensitive and mysterious women of the 1900s when hats were decorated with bouquets of roses, fruits and feathers.
Kristina Dragomir is a painter and designer who graduated in 1998 from the national University of Art, having had as mentor the painter Henry Mavrodin. She has participated in 30 exhibitions, personal and group exhibitions, both in the country and abroad. She has also worked as art director in various advertising agencies. In 2006 she opened her own design studio “Dog Work” where she mainly designs handmade accessories for everyday but also special occasions.
