Dakino, the first international film festival organized in Romania, has reached its twentieth edition, holding as a spotlight the concert held by Goran Bregovic (in picture) and his orchestra, who have previously held a show in Romania in May.
The anniversary edition of the festival will bring together the winners of the previous 19 editions, along with guests, members of the jury, colleagues from other international film festivals or other personalities from the movie industry.
The program of the twentieth edition of Dakino will focus on the winners of the Dakino trophy, as well as of the best director award, and will include debates, workshops, concerts, as well as opening and closing galas. The public will bring its contribution at the festival, by voting for the best picture of the ones awarded in the last nineteen years, through the Dakino 20 trophy.
Five Romanian directors have received the Dakino trophy throughout time: Florin Iepan, Alexandru Maftei, Titus Muntean, Hanno Hofer and Radu Jude. Foreign film directors, winners at the previous Dakino editions, that have confirmed their presence at the festival are Jonathan Ogilvie, Frederic Pelle and Ari Bafalouka.
The festival will take place between 22 and 27 November, at Patria cinema, the Elvira Popescu cinema hall within the French Institute and Noul Cinematograf al Regizorului Roman (The New Cinema of the Romanian Director) at Muzeul Taranului Roman (Museum of the Romanian Peasant).
The concert held by Goran Bregovic and the Wedding and Funeral Orchestra will be held at Sala Palatului, on November 26.
