International contemporary dance festival starts in Bucharest on October 1st

The sixth edition of eXplore dance festival, the Bucharest International Contemporary Dance and Performance Festival, will take place this year from October 1st-16th, 2011.
On the occasion, several theatres and museums of Bucharest, will host a wide rage of dance activities.

The festival program will include 30 performances, 15 dance films (presented in partnership with Cinedans Festival/Amsterdam), 8 workshops, 5 lectures, a round table, as well as a series of special events and programs such as: Meet the Next Generation – an intensive international coaching program for young choreographers, Critical Endeavour and Prix Jardin d’Europe – activities hosted within the European Project Jardin d’Europe.
The festival will once again present various works by world-known artists and emerging choreographers, offering a wide view of the most important directions in the field of contemporary dance and performance.
Acclaimed choreographers like Meg Stuart, Boris Charmatz, Philipp Gehmacher, Eszter Salamon, Jonathan Burrows, a.o, will present their creations next to some of the most creative and bright emerging European artists.
