International American School in Bucharest starts Terry Fox run on September 10

The International American School in Bucharest is organizing the twelve edition of the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope on September 19, starting 11.00. The yearly non-profit and non-competitive event is meant to raise awareness on the importance of finding a cure for cancer and raising funding for medical research in this area.

The marathon starts in front of the American school in Pipera, and will follow a five-kilometer route through Baneasa woods and then return to the school’s HQ. this year’s edition is the 12^th of the  run. The donated amounts will go to Romanian institutes looking into cancer treatment options. So far, over EUR 145,000 were  raised to support the fight against cancer in Romania.
