Imax Bucharest goes digital

Newsroom 03/11/2010 | 16:14

The Samsung Imax cinema, part of Cinema City Cotroceni, will switch to the digital technology starting with the end of November and will be the operator’s second to do as such, as the company’s officials inform. Thus, one of the major issues that 3D films have been confronted with – that of three-dimensional subtitles – will be resolved. By moving on to the digital technology, the cinema in Bucharest will be one of the first in Europe and in the world to do as such. The digital format will continue to rely on two separate projectors, accompanied by uncompressed digital sound, shows the official information.
