Guano Apes return to Romania, this time at Peninsula Festival

It looks like this summer will be a summer of festivals, as has been tradition in the recent years. Joining the likes of B’estfest, Rock the City or Summer Well, Peninsula is summoning music fans (but this time, the heavier kind) to a Guano Apes performance that will take place on August 25, on the first day of the festival, in Targu Mures.

The German rock band came to Romania in 2009, in the Izvor park of the capital city. They were formed in 1994 in Gottingen, Germany and have so far released six albums and have received two gold discs and a platinum one. Their debut album was Proud Like a God (1997), of which hits like Open Your Eyes, Lords Of The Boards and Rain became the most prominent. The band took a break in 2006 after the release of Planet of Apes and reunited in 2009.

Besides Guano Apes, four-day festival Peninsula (taking place on August 25 – 26) is also bringing local bands and performers ROA, Grimus, Suie Paparude, as well as international artists Stereo Palma, Kasabian, Reality Engine, Nick Warren, Subscribe, Within Temptation, Tiga, Borgore.

Tickets may be purchased in the Eventim chain or online on www.eventim.ro. One-day tickets cost RON 80 (by August 25) and RON 100 (starting on August 25 at 16 hrs). Students that held their baccalaureate this year have a special promotion, with a four day subscription reaching RON 159. Students may pay RON 169 for their subscriptions, while others may fall into the Early Bird promotion and get tickets for RON 179, by July 15. Between July 16 and August 24, they will RON 199.
