Old and used objects, that we are used to regard through the spectacles of their functionality, put their almost unexplored artistic side on display at The Golden Flat – The Last Carnival exhibit, opening this Friday, at Muzeul Taranului Roman.
The exhibit showcases artist Alexandru Poteca’s perspective on the object-sculpture, aiming to teach the untrained eye to see beyond the functionality of apparently non-artistic objects. Not only a source of intricate art, The Golden Flat – The Last Carnival is also a source of documentation for the 1970s – 1980s life in the average Romanian’s home.
The exhibit opens on August 6, at 19.00, at Muzeul Taranului Roman (Soseaua Kiseleff 3, in the vicinity of Piata Victoriei). The Golden Flat – The Last Carnival will last until August 26 and will be available for visiting from Tuesday to Sunday, in the 10.00 – 18.00 interval.
