London tube station to be named after Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci

Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci is among the selected Olympic legends whose names have been selected for the Underground Olympic Legends Map, a revamped map of the London tube where all stations have been renamed after Olympic athletes. King’s Cross station will be renamed Nadia Comaneci, the first female gymnast to be awarded a perfect 10 score in the Olympics.

The Underground Olympic Legends Map is a unique interpretation of the Underground map in which each underground line is dedicated to a Summer Olympic sporting discipline or disciplines from basketball to track and field.  The map not only celebrates multiple gold medal winning athletes but also features other extraordinary athletes who may not have won an Olympic gold medal but are recognized for their abilities or in some cases, famous defeats.

The Underground Olympic Legends Map was designed by Alex Trickett and David Brooks. Alex Trickett was a sports journalist and International Editor for the BBC Sport website and David Brooks is a sports historian, journalist and author of “The All-Time World Cup.”
