Augmented Reality at One Night Gallery Kitră tomorrow at Globalworth Art & Tech District

One Night Gallery presents this month the urban artist Kitră through a surrealist street exhibition hosted by Globalworth Art & Tech District. The artist’s distinct lines and forms will interact in abstract minimalist compositions, specially conceived in order to transform the space into an unconventional gallery. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 26th, from 8 pm, at Globalworth Green Court (Str. Gara Herastrau 2-4). Entrance is free.

In the exhibition, Kitră’s work will put the imprint on three apartment buildings through installations and super-sized works. They will be amplified in augmented reality through animations created by Dragos Botcu, which will be found in the app called Culturesc 100, available for free on Google Play. The organizers will invite the public to scan the posters in the partner events that are announcing the new event in order to discover the work’s extension in augmented reality.

The evening of September 26 will be completed by the artists Aural Eye, who will develop for this exhibition a show of video mapping and an interactive installation, with the help of Epson video projectors. Due to the 3LCD technology, which insures a high degree of luminosity, on white and color, a part of the building of over 200 meters will become part of a work signed by Kitră, showing new forms and perfect colors integrated in the architecture of the project. Another space will show elements detached from the artist’s graphic that will be controlled by the guests through a system of sensors for gestures, called Leap Motion. It will independently analyse every finger’s movement, transforming the space into a tactile screen.

Specific to One Night Gallery’s events scene painting, throughout the evening a new piece created by Kitră in virtual reality (VR) will also be presented. The public will therefore be able to give up the role of a spectator and step into the work, with the help of VR equipment. Later, it will also be explored on Gear VR, through the Culturesc 100 app, developed by Samsung.

The gallery’s opening will be followed by an after party that will complete the multi-sensory experience through the UFe DJ Set.

Kitră’s works will continue to be presented in the space at Globalworth Green Court, the street exhibition being open to the public two more weeks after the event.

One Night Gallery is the bridge between artists and technology and facilitates the creation of the first works of virtual art in Romania. They are promoted during a monthly art show that combines the material exhibition with the virtual one. Moreover, the extension of these works can be accessed by the public through augmented reality and video-mapping. At each gallery opening the artists have at their disposal a place dedicated to experiments in order for them to present their creative universe.
