Dacian heritage jewelry exhibited in Rome

The National History Museum of Romania will exhibit around 140 pieces of jewelry, part of which are Dacian bracelets, at the Museum of Imperial Forums in Rome, reports Mediafax news wire.

The exhibit, “Gli ori antichi della Romania – Prima e doppo Traiano” has been prepared for two years and will take place between December 16 and April 3. As museum officials stated, the exhibit has necessitated consistent funds and consistent preparation. However, on account of insufficient funds, the number of exhibited objects has been reduced.

Among the objects that will be exhibited in Rome is a bracelet from the Hinova Treasury, four from the Sarmizegetusa Regia Treasury, a Getic-Thracian crest from Poiana-Cotofenesti and a parade crest from the Peretu Treasury, reports the news wire.

The National History Museum of Romania coordinated the team taking part in the project, which included specialists from museums in Cluj, Deva, Piatra Neamt and Constanta. The exhibit showcases objects resulting from precious metal processing before and after Trajan Age (the final Dacian – Roman was in 106 A.D., when Dacia became a Roman province.
