The eighth Stuftsock will take place between August 16 and 22 in Vama Veche, bringing rock, jazz, blues, reggae, indie, fusion and electro music under the same umbrella as movies, photography, literature and theater.

This year, Stufstock will feature three stages: Rock, Fusion and Newcomers, with the latter dedicated to twelve up-and-coming bands that, in order to participate, needed to have at least a 45-minute repertoire.

Confimed acts so far include renowned Romanian names such as: Zdob si Zdub, E.M.I.L, Trooper, Luna Amara, Kumm, OCS, ZOB, byron, Implant Pentru Refuz, Altar and Trupa Veche.

The movie projections, or Filmstock, will take place on the Hand terrace, between August 16 and 18, featuring both films that have done the rounds at local films festivals, such as TIFF, Iasi and NexT, as well as Romanian short films shown at the Cannes Film Festival and green projections from Green Planet Blues 2009. Under the umbrella of Filmstock, Shadow Shorts will consist of 12 short dark and horror films.

The name Stufstock is an allusion to Woodstock, the famous hippie festival of the 1960s, incorporating the word “stuf” (reed), which refers to the event’s seaside setting.
