The Romanian Playwrights’ Theatre will present tomorrow, Wednesday, March 16, starting at 7 PM, the performance “BRÂNCUȘI, MY LOVE!”, a commemorative event on the 85th anniversary of the great artist’s death.
Inspired by Claudia Motea’s book “Brâncuși, my love!,” translated and published in ten languages, the multimedia performance brings to the fore Brâncuși’s great loves, with famous women who were also his muses: Margit Pogany, Maria Tănase, Eileen Lane, Peggy Gugenheim, Madame Leonie Ricou, Maria Bonaparte, Cella Delavrancea, Baroness Renee Irana Frachon and Milița Petrașcu.
All nine female characters are played by actress Claudia Motea, who proves a true artistic achievement with a magical dose of talent and dedication in the diverse creation of these complex personalities, resulting in a fascinating show, directed by Beatrice Rancea, which evokes the true love stories of the great artist’s life, lived in his sculpture studio in Montparnasse.
The voice of Brâncuși belongs to actor Marius Bodochi. Performance duration: 70 minutes
At the same time, the UNESCO Mihai Eminescu Centre, together with the “BRÂNCUȘI, MY LOVE!” performance, will give life to a Brancusi event through a unique travelling art exhibition: “BRÂNCUȘI and his loves!” which features the portraits of the nine characters of the play (artist Vali Ciobanu) and that of Brâncuși himself (artist Dmitri Murahovschi).
