New Romanian series 'Subteran' starring Ana Ularu and Florin Piersic Jr. is going to be on Netflix

A new Romanian series is now in production on Netflix, titled “Subteran”. The show is under the direction of a team of accomplished filmmakers with previous collaborations on HBO MAX, including Anca Miruna Lăzărescu, who also worked on the acclaimed series “Hackerville” in 2018, Daniel Sandu, known for his work on “Bani negri” in 2020, and Octav Gheorghe, who contributed to “RUXX” in 2021.

This production comprises six episodes and is currently in the initial pre-production phase, preparing for filming. The series is written by Steve Bailie, with Octav Gheorghe and Peter Kerek serving as co-writers. The project is produced by Tudor Reu of Mobra Films and Johnathan Young from creative.

The main characters are Ana Ularu and Florin Piersic Jr., both with well-established international careers

Ana is one of the key characters in the HBO series “Spy Master” and also in the Netflix production “Who is Erin Carter?”. Furthermore, she played also oin the Amazon series “The Power,” as well as “Alex Rider” (AXN series) and “Tribes of Europe” (Netflix). Ana Ularu was also part of the films of Bogdan Apetri, “Miracle” and “Unidentified.” Her work also includes other international productions, such as the feature film “Siberia” with Keanu Reeves in the lead role, “Inferno” with Tom Hanks as the protagonist, and the NBC series “Emerald City.”

Florin Piersic Jr. was recently featured in “The Protégé” with Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton in leading roles, but also in the Amazon series “Comrade Detective” where his colleagues were Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

What’s the story for the series Subteran

Cami is a woman who uses her intelligence to succeed in a world dominated by men. When Cami’s life is turned upside down by a criminal group, she ends up playing the role of a girlfriend and hacker for an undercover detective named Roman, who finds himself in an inescapable situation. However, this is Cami’s only chance to seek revenge and save her son.
