The interwar and contemporary Bucharest florists and flower markets are the subject of a new exhibition taking place at Romanian Peasant Museum (Muzeul Taranului Roman – MTR).
The photography and painting exhibit is entitled “Intre timp” (Meanwhile), as it consists in a time trip encompassing both the atmosphere of the past (starting as early as the year 1920) in former flower markets versus current ones.
The artists, Mirela Traistaru, Lucian Muntean and Justinian Scarlatescu will showcase this intricate time trip through means as painting, photography and reportage. The multimedia reportage describes the trade with flowers brought from The Netherlands and brought to Romania, their purchase by wholesalers and then their sale at Bucharest flower markets.
The exhibit is opening on March 24, at 18.00, in the Foyer Hall of the National Peasant Museum and will last through April 12. The museum is located on Soseaua Kiseleff 3, in the vicinity of Piata Victoriei subway station
