British tourists flock at Balea Ice Hotel

Approximately 300 tourists from Great Britain have made reservations for this season in the Ice Hotel at Balea Lac, in Sibiu County, according to a press release of the management of the hotel, quoted by Mediafax newswire. The hotel hosted 12 tourists from Britain during the New Year’s Eve. The guests were served a special menu, of which the appetizer and desert were brought on ice plates.

The construction of the Ice Hotel, the only one in South- Eastern Europe, was finalised on December 24, when it was opened for visitors. The total built surface of the hotel is 650 square meters. The hotel comprises ten double rooms, an Ice Bar and an Ice Restaurant. Also, guests can admire an exhibition of ice statues. Each of the rooms was named after Romanian and foreign philosophers.
