Brâncuși in Timișoara: Tickets now available

Tickets for the exhibition “Brâncuși: Romanian Sources and Universal Perspectives,” which will debut at the National Art Museum Timișoara on September 30, are now on sale, available here.

 

 

The exhibition includes 22 sculptures, 11 drawings, 55 photographs, and various archival documents. “Brâncuși: Romanian Sources and Universal Perspectives,” curated by Doina Lemny, will bring together iconic works of the artist, both from his youth and maturity, thus tracing the trajectory that has established the artist’s works in the universal heritage.

This is the first event of this scale in Romania in the last 50 years dedicated to Constantin Brâncuși

This exhibition benefits from exceptional sculpture loans from the National Museum of Modern Art/ Pompidou Center in Paris, Tate Modern in London, Guggenheim Foundation in Venice, National Museum of Modern Art in Bucharest, and National Art Museum in Craiova, as well as from private collections.

A significant part of Constantin Brâncuși’s work is dedicated to photography, to which he devoted great passion. The exhibition will also feature a extensive selection of his photographic work, along with works on paper and video fragments filmed by Brâncuși himself, completing the portrait of this great artist of the 20th century.

To ensure a pleasant visiting experience and the safety of the exhibited works, tickets can be reserved for predefined time slots, subject to availability. In addition to tickets that can be reserved online in advance, a limited number of same-day tickets will be available each morning at the National Art Museum Timișoara ticket office. The prices start from RON 22 (students) up to RON 100, including all the exhibitions within thw National Art Museum Timisoara.

Current website for the exhibition provides information about the renowned curator Doina Lemny and the bilingual Romanian-English volume, “Brâncuși: Romanian Sources and Universal Perspectives,” prepared by her, articles about the life and work of the artist who made an enormous contribution to the renewal of the language of modern sculpture. Practical information about tickets, visiting rules, mediation program, as well as the project team, is also presented.

Exhibition schedule

The exhibition will be open from September 30, 2023, to January 28, 2024, from Wednesday to Sunday, between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM. It will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as on December 24 – 26, December 31, and January 1 – 2, 2024.

“Brâncuși: Romanian Sources and Universal Perspectives” is organized by the National Art Museum Timișoara, the Art Encounters Foundation, and the French Institute in Romania, with funding from the Timiș County Council.
