Over the last two editions, the Biennial was organized by the UAR and the Arhitectura magazine team. The previous two editions brought architecture to significant public attention – 15,000 visitors attended in Bucharest and in the other eight cities where the exhibition traveled. Exhibitions, seminars and roundtables held by architects from the professional elite in Spain in 2004 and in Japan in 2006 also garnered publicity.
The central element in the Biennial is the exhibition, which comprises the most valuable works by Romanian architects created over the last two years. The exhibition is split into several sections: architecture I and II, urbanism, interior design, restoration and rehabilitation and architecture publications. The pre-selection of the projects is made by a jury of elite professionals
While in previous editions the president of the jury was a Romanian architect, this time the jury will be chaired by two foreign architects, Manuel Bailo of Barcelona, Spain and Hrvoje Njiric from Zagreb, Croatia.
