In total, 3,960 liters of blood were donated, which could save up to 20,000 human lives.
The program aims to encourage blood donation in Romania to answer the need for blood in hospitals.
According to a study entitled Blood Donors' Motivation and Behavior, conducted on 600 young people aged between 18 and 26, most young people – 74 percent – are willing to keep on donating irrespective of material compensation. As far as the motivation is concerned, 37 percent of respondents do it altruistically while 45 percent are interested in the free blood analysis they benefit post-donation.
The third blood donation session took place between December 8 and 12 in 25 cities. The campaign aims to ensure the loyalty of people who have already donated blood and attract new donors, especially youngsters.
