Catching fish with a rod and line is a national passion; but I am convinced that Romanian fishermen hate fish and just want to kill them en masse, and here is why. Consider if you will the evidence. The fishermen take their bounty home, and then throw this magnificent creature into a boiling tub of vegetable oil (irrespective of the species, each one of which must be cooked differently) and in doing so, they utterly destroy the delicate flavour and texture.
