Outstanding Women in Business: Beatrice Dumitrașcu, CEO Residential Division One United Properties

Business Review recently engaged in an enlightening conversation with Beatrice Dumitrașcu, CEO of the Residential Division at One United Properties, a leading figure in the Romanian real estate industry. This exclusive interview, featured in Business Review Magazine’s March 2024 edition titled Outstanding Women in Business, delves into Beatrice’s instrumental role in steering One United Properties to new heights.

What are your main achievements within the company since you hold this position?

I have joined One United Properties in 2013 first as a sales manager and throughout the years I have also managed the marketing and communication segments up to the point of being appointed CEO of the Residential Division. It has been quite an exciting journey as I have witnessed the rapid and organic growth of this company and I have come to really understand its DNA. We have faced challenges, but never gave up our core objective of building new and thriving communities in sustainable real estate and, most recently, that of contributing to the preservation of the existing historical landmarks. As you can see, I have been part of all major stages of One United Properties growth, and I am really looking forward to what’s next.

In terms of achievements, I am grateful for the beautiful team of talented professionals that we have gathered. We put to work our common effort, creativity, and vision in order to affirm our continuous dedication to our clients and contribute to the sustainable development of the city. We have proudly pioneered the mixed-use development concept in Romania, we have innovated with energy efficiency such as the geo exchange systems, we have created landmark buildings that literally shape the city looks, and we have promoted a unique design for our residential units. At the same time, we have always paid attention to the urban infrastructure and invested in this so that the whole community can enjoy it: the enlargement of Calea Floreasca, the pedestrian alley along the lake at One Lake Club just to name very few.

As a result of our efforts in real estate, we have recorded continuous demand for our developments. During 2023, our company sold and pre-sold 953 apartments covering a total surface area of 80,757 sqm, 1,584 parking spaces and other units. This performance marks a considerable leap from the 599 apartments and 978 parking spaces sold in 2022.

In your opinion what makes a woman to be successful in business?

I think success in business for anyone, regardless of gender, is often determined by a combination of various factors. It requires a blend of leadership, resilience, innovation, communication and teamwork, emotional intelligence, networking, continuous learning, as well as work-life balance. Women who possess strong leadership skills can adapt to challenges, think innovatively, communicate effectively, build relationships. Strategic vision is also essential because we need to be able to anticipate and adapt to market changes. Efficient change management and building an organizational culture based on trust and authenticity are equally crucial to keeping the team united and motivated.

What is your major professional achievement in your entire career?

While I’ve had many fulfilling experiences throughout my career in marketing and real estate, I prefer to focus on the collective achievements of the teams and colleagues rather than singling out one specific accomplishment.
