What is your leadership style and how does it support your company’s performance?

My approach is rooted in adaptability and collaboration. In today’s dynamic business landscape, it’s crucial to lead with flexibility and resilience and I strive to embody these qualities in every aspect of my approach. One of the key tenets of my leadership style is empowerment. I firmly believe in empowering team members to take ownership of their work, make their own decisions, and bring their unique skills and perspectives into our collective success. We can bring out the best of those around us by creating a culture of diversity and empowerment. Communication is another cornerstone of my leadership philosophy. I prioritise open, transparent communication channels within the team and across departments. By fostering an environment where everyone feels heard and valued, we’re able to collaborate more effectively, align our goals, and overcome challenges together. Our resilience as a team enables us to navigate challenges with agility, turning potential setbacks into opportunities for growth and learning. This adaptability ensures that we remain focused on our long-term objectives, driving the company towards sustained success.

What were your main professional achievements in 2023?

Last year was particularly remarkable for us and has contributed to our mission of transforming care delivery and enhancing patient outcomes in the healthcare sector. One example is the introduction of Naeotom Alpha, the world’s first photon-counting CT scanner, to the Romanian market. This pioneering technology represents a quantum leap in imaging capabilities, providing unparalleled detail and clarity that support early and precise diagnosis. The successful launch of Naeotom Alpha has set new standards in imaging technology in Romania, reinforcing our commitment to innovation.

Furthermore, the launch of the first reference site in Romania was another strategic achievement. This site serves as a centre of excellence, showcasing the latest Siemens Healthineers technologies and enabling hands-on experience for healthcare professionals. It’s a testament to our dedication to not just providing cutting-edge technology, but also enabling the knowledge and skills transfer that can maximise the benefits of these innovations. Last but not least, I want to mention the introduction of the first 7 Tesla MRI system in Romania. With this equipment, Romania gets on the global scientific map.

What were the biggest challenges your business sector faced last year and how did you navigate them?

The accelerated shift towards digital healthcare posed both a challenge and an opportunity. We embraced this transformation by investing in digital innovation and expanding our portfolio of digital health

solutions. This not only addressed the immediate needs of healthcare providers, but also positioned Siemens Healthineers as a top choice in digital healthcare transformation.

Goals for 2024:

  • Focus on three main pillars: operational resilience, innovation and technology, but also partnerships development
  • Improving medical services for patients, but also supporting the development of the medical research sector for new medical innovations, such as the recently launched MAGNETOM Flow
  • We pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare for everyone, everywhere, therefore our priority remains to offer reliable medical solutions and contribute to the development of a more solid and efficient health system in Romania.
