Three companies fight over AVAS advertising budget

The agency that is selected will administer the budget for the last three months of the year, but the contract between the two entities could be extended until April 2010. The bidding commission registered and opened the offers in the presence of the companies and will analyze their content over the coming period. Recently, the government has changed the financing regime of several structures, including AVAS, compelling them to hand over unpaid taxes to the state. Prime Minister Emil Boc said last week that agencies were sitting on approximately EUR 1 billion, sums that they administer at their own will.AVAS will only be financed by the state, through the budget of the General Secretariat of the government, and any revenues it generates will be passed on to the state.
