Digital Cable Systems (DCS) estimates that AKTA, the DCS solution for residential customers, will achieve an 80 percent increase in its sales compared to the average sales of previous months.
“The fact that the recession was not felt so strongly in the telecom sector does not mean that operators on this market will post the same growth as in previous years. The battle is on for attracting new clients but even more for the loyalty of the existent ones, and this can be done by offering people what they are looking for in this period: discounts, free services, low prices, even at the risk of lowering temporarily profit margins,” says Dinu Malacopol, CEO of Digital Cable Systems (DCS).
DCS estimates that over 75 percent of the sales of a telecom operator are generated by promotional offers. “For several years no operator has been having acquisition campaigns that can not be promoted by generous offers, and thus an expectancy in this sense has already been created on the market,” says Dinu Malacopol,
DCS, founded in 2005, is operational in Romania through AKTA, the division for residential customers and Dial Telecom, division for business clients.
DCS intends to invest EUR 7 million in a network update and new acquisitions in 2010. DCS runs its activity mostly through door-to-door sales and cash-in and with technicians who service the network and subscribers. Last year, it posted a turnover of EUR 25.52 million (RON 94 million). In the first half of 2009, DCS posted a turnover of RON 51,451,752.
