Romanian senator Catalin Voicu and former member of the Social democratic Party (PSD) has been recently sent for 29 days of arrest in an ongoing corruption file. The senator is allowed to appeal the decision, but the appeal will be judged while he will stay in arrest. This is the first case in which the Romanian Anti Corruption body (DNA) has asked for the arrest of a senator. The Romanian Senate gave its vote last week for allowing the senator to be investigated in the corruption file. This was also the first case in which the Romanian Parliament voted for the investigation of an MP.
