CSM gives green light for the arrest of High Court of Justice judge Costiniu

Romania’s Superior Magistrates Council (CSM) approved the arrest of High Court of Justice civil department chief Florin Costiniu (photo) on charges of influence peddling. Judge Costiniu is investigated in a file in which social democrat senator Catalin Voicu has already been placed under preventive arrest for corruption. Costiniu will be soon heard along with businessmen Marius Locic and Costel Casuneanu – businessman associated with president Traian Basescu – by anticorruption prosecutor.
