The combined turnover of METRO Group divisions in Romania in 2009 stood at EUR 1.8 billion, with EUR 1.2 billion posted by METRO Cash & Carry and EUR 671 million reported by real,-Hypermarket division. Overall, this is a 10.7 percent decrease compared to the previous year’s results, and is due to the overall depreciation of the national currency RON against the euro and lower consumption as a result of the overall economic crisis.
