In spite of the recession, the eighth Peninsula Festival will take place this year in Targu Mures between August 26 and 29. Last year’s event had a budget of EUR 1.2 million and attracted 58,000 visitors. The Peninsula Festival features international artists who embrace various music styles and headline top festivals in Europe. “Some of the artists and DJs signed up for this year’s edition will be announced soon and, we think, their recitals will raise the bar but also make this event more attractive, because it seems that the Peninsula Festival remains the only classical summer festival in Romania,” says Gerendai Karoly, executive manager of Sziget Management, the company which is also in charge of organizing the well-known Sziget festival in Hungary.
