The Bucharest Stock Exchange gets a new general director

Valentin Ionescu, 38, was appointed general director of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) following the decision of the institution’s council. He is taking over from Anca Dumitru who has stepped down from the position but will continue to be part of BSE’s executive management.

Ionescu’s career has been related to BSE for the past 15 years. He has also worked for the stock exchanges in Prague and Wien and also for Euroinvest Bank AG Wien and Wood & Company Financial Services a.s. Prague. Ionescu is a graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest and he holds an MBA from CNAM Paris.
