Writer Razvan Radulescu wins European Union Award for Literature

Romanian writer Razvan Radulescu has received EU’s Literature Award for his novel, Teodosie cel Mic (Theodosius the Small), announces Polirom publishing house.

Radulescu is not only known for his literary contributions, but also for writing the script for some of the best received Romanian films, as Marfa si banii (Stuff and Dough, directed by Cristi Puiu), Moartea domnului Lazarescu (The Death of Mr. Lazarescu, directed by Cristi Puiu), Hartia va fi albastra (The Paper Will Be Blue, directed by Radu Muntean) and Felicia, inainte de toate (First of All, Felicia, written in collaboration with Melissa de Raaf and directed by Radulescu himself).

The award was announced on October 6 in Frankfurt and aims to draw attention on new talents from various countries, thus placing emphasis on cultural diversity.
