The Ministry of Communications has launched, via the National Institute of Research and Development in Informatics, the National Library of Programs.
The aim of this system is to facilitate the access of the public administration and business environment to quality informatics programs and certificates at good prices.
Among the services supplied by the library is the registration of software products, supplying information on new products registered in the database, technical assistance of searching the library, intermediation between suppliers and potential users, supplying programs and so on.
At the moment, the library only includes IT programs of the National Informatics R&D Institute. By the end of March, IT programs can be registered free of charge.
“The National Library of Programs sets order to what means software development in Romania because in our country the same software is produced in several production units or state institutions. It will also allow the imposition of the Open Source concept on the market. The industry can also resort to this institution, but the main goal of the National Library of Programs is the orientation towards the local, central and public administration,” said the Minister of Communications, Valerian Vreme.
