American car maker Ford will halt the production of cars and engines at its plant in Craiova for one week, citing poor sales on the European market, reports Mediafax newswire.
A Ford spokesperson said the production will be stopped between 12 to 20 December, and that employees will receive 80 percent of their wages.
The production will be restarted on January 6 in the engine plant and two days later in the car assembly line, following the holidays.
Ford has halted car production for limited periods in the last three months. The company makes in Craiova the B-max model and the EcoBoost engines.
