Romanian construction materials manufacturer AdePlast opened this week a EUR 3.2 million polystyrene factory in Oradea, western Romania. The company also owns production facilities in Ploiesti and Roman.

The new factory has an annual production capacity of 700,000 sqm.

This year AdePlast will continue to invest in new production facilities by opening another polystyrene factory in Roman and a dyes production unit in Ploiesti. Overall, AdePlast has invested some EUR 22 million in its three local platforms which it says offer a good geographical coverage of the local market. Moreover, the new factory in Oradea will enable the manufacturer to consolidate its position in neighboring Hungary and in Western Europe.

“Exports are a strategic direction which we wish to develop strongly over the next years. Bulgaria, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Hungary, Austria, Germany or Lebanon are markets where we will be increasingly more present over the next four months and where we already see a 49 percent exports increase compared to the same period last year,” said AdePlast” Marcel Barbut, CEO AdePast.

The company employs 250 people.
