Sony has sold in Romania its first television set with 4K technology and expects to sell ten such devices by the end of the year, according to Lucian Radulescu (in picture),Country Head Sony for Romania, Bulgaria and the Moldova Republic, quoted by Hotnews.ro.

The company showcased the BRAVIA KD-84X9005 model with a diagonal of 2.14 meters and a resolution of 8.29 megapixels, which sells for EUR 26.000.

Sony launched last week in Romania its flagship products in the home entertainment, mobile and photo segments. Among them, there were also the water resistant Xperia Tablet Z and the Xperia Z smartphone.

The Xperia Tablet Z comes with a display of 10.1 inches and with LTE technology. It is 6.9 mm thick and weighs 495 grams. The Xperia Tablet Z has a photo camera of 8 MP. Its One-Touch function allows the user to transfer content from the tablet to TV, loudspeakers or smartphone.

The tablet will reach Romania by the end of May with a starting price of EUR 500 but the exact price for Romania has not been established yet.

”Since this is a high-end product, we will not sell more than several hundred items, maybe a thousand, in 2013, but this is still an ambitious estimation given that the price is above the average,”said Larisa Zota, manager for mobile products in Sony Romania, quoted by Hotnews.ro.

The smartphone XPeria Z will hit retail stores in Romania in a few weeks at a recommended price of EUR 600-EUR 650. The smartphone can work in water for up to 30 minutes, at one meter in depth. It is equipped with Reality Display Full HD 1080p of 5 inches and a quad-core processor Snapdragon S4 Pro, a camera of 13 MP and 4G LTE connectivity.
