The Romanian Peasant National Museum organizes yearly Saint Nicholas Fair between 30 November until Sunday, 2 December, every day between 10 am and 6 pm. The event will present the most skillful and reputed craftsmen from the country: potters, iron smiths, spoon makers, confectioners, furriers, weavers, seamstresses, knitters, woodworkers and icon makers. Saint Nicholas is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on December 6, marking the celebration of the holiday season in Romania.
For this day, the Romanian tradition says that children will find gifts in their boots on the St. Nicholas morning if they were good during the year, or they can also find a stick if they behaved badly. St. Nicholas is the celebration that kicks off the holiday season in Romania.
