New Bucharest subway stations open today

Two new subway stations on the fourth line are opening today, Metrorex announced. The two stations are Jiului and Parc Bazilescu. The two stations have a 2.62 km double subway line length and took EUR 72.5 million to build.

In 2011, EUR 27 million were allotted for various works on the Bucharest subway.

With the new stations openings the length of the Bucharest subway reaches 68.6 km of double line, while the number of stations increases to 51.
