Windows 8, the latest version of Microsoft’s Windows operating system, is available in Romania starting October 26 in local retail stores and in the network of Microsoft commercial partners.
Windows 8 will be available on over 140 markets and in 37 languages in two versions, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro for retail clients, as well as in the Windows 8 Enterprise version dedicated to corporations.
Also, Windows RT was launched, a version of Windows 8 optimized for ARM processors, which will be pre-installed on tablets.
Until the end of January 2013, consumers who are now using Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 can acquire Windows 8 Pro Upgrade for a price of EUR 59.99.
The company also launched Windows Store, with applications from software developers and hardware partners in the Windows eco-system.
