“Given the reciprocal accusations between the political sides in Bucharest, regarding the intentions or practices to commit fraud or buy votes, Transparency International Romania urges Romanian citizens to exercise the rights guaranteed by the Constitution according to their own convictions and reject any attempt to influence these under any form or by any means,” says Transparency International Romania in a press release.
Transparency International Romania also says that “the impact of any attempt to fraud the will of the electorate, either by buying a vote or by buying silence, can be prevented by clearly expressing the electoral will.”
The referendum that will decide whether suspended president Traian Basescu will remain in office takes place on July 29.
