The second edition of the charitable Tennis for People Amateur Open, which took place between June 21 and 23 at The Diplomatic Club, raised EUR 10, 000 from sponsors, partners and individual donations. The money will benefit the 50 children from the Generation Community Center.

For this event, Princess Margareta handed the trophies for the 32 tennis amateur players, including top managers, diplomatic representatives and bloggers who took part in the event. For the second year, Ruxandra Dragomir, a former top 15 WTA player, participated in a demonstrative tennis match with singer Cornel Ilie of Romanian band Vunk in order to support this manifestation.

The purpose of this charitable sports event was to raise funds for 50 children in need, supported at the foundation’s Generation Community Center. At the center the children receive a hot meal every day, constant help with their school work, educational and creative guidance, psychological counseling, and other social services for themselves and their families.

Organized by The Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation, the Tennis for People event gathers diplomatic representatives, business leaders and personalities from different fields in an open competition with a charitable purpose.
