The average net salary in Romania increased in March by 4.8 percent to RON 1,543 (EUR 350).
The most important growth was registered in the tobacco industry while the lowest level of growth was posted in the case of hotels and restaurants, according to data posted by the National Institute of Statistics.
In the manufacturing of tobacco products, the average net salary was RON 5,075 while in hotels & restaurants industry the average salary was RON 838.
Other significant domains where salaries increased were in the preparation of basic pharma products (38 percent growth), other products from non-metallic minerals, financial mediations, insurance activities and pension funds activities (between 15 and 19 percent), liquor production, tobacco production, telecommunications (between 10 and 14 percent), among others.
