The Romanian Association of Public Relations (ARRP) has a new board of directors, starting April 28th, as a result of general meeting of elections, organized on the same day in Bucharest. The team of management, plenary voted and composed of experts from communication companies and institutional communicators, propose an ambitious program of professional activities.

Goals include supporting the communication industry development in the coming period, updating the association bylaw and fostering membership development to include professionals, companies or other organizations actively involved in the market. At the same time, ARRP looks at carrying affiliation with ICCO further, representing Romania in the most important organization of public relations agencies in the world, while working together with other relevant associations for the industry, be them local or international.

The Board Members are: President – Catalin Hosu, General Manager COMM360, former president of Association, replacing Gabriel Paslaru, who honored this job in the last eight years; Vice-presidents: Cristian China Birta – Managing Partner, Kooperativa 2.0, Alexandra Mihailescu – Partner, BDR Associates/Hill+Knowlton Strategies/WPP, Cezar Calushi – General Director, People and Companies; Elena Oprea – Marketing Manager, Termoenergetica Bucharest. General Secretary of the association is Viorica Rosca – Public Affairs & Public Relations Manager la Rochwool Romania.

The mission of the Board of Directors is assisted by the Jury of Honor, who contribute at defining ARRP’s position on the professional ethic. President of the new Jury of Honor is Dumitru Bortun – Professor Doctor, Faculty of Communications and Public Relations at SNSPA, and the members chosen by vote are: Radut Bilbiie – University Lecturer Doctor, Catalina Rousseau – CEO, BDR Associates/Hill+Knowlton Strategies/WPP, Gabriel Paslaru – General Director, Perfect Ltd. (former president ARRP), Corneliu Cojocaru – independent Senior Consultant, Mihaela Tudor – CEO, Tudor Communications.

“Starting 2014, I had the honor and pleasure to be a member in Board of Directors of ARRP, next to memorable names who actively and consistently contributed to the communication industry in Romania. I’ve learned from them and now I look forward to leading a team who wishes to take the Association to the next level, thus strengthening and growing reputation of our industry, which is highly relevant to every field of activity. We encourage all those who work or want to work in communication to join us in this endeavour” – said Catalin Hosu, president of ARRP.

“I’m glad that, through the efforts of the last few years, we were able to turn ARRP into a bridge between public relations and social media professionals, domains which tended to work separately. Even more gratifying is that this round of elections resulted in a team which promises to take the current ARRP projects further, while also proposing new and attractive ones. My wish, from my honorable position which I accepted as a member of Jury of Honor ARRP, is to contribute further in the success of the Association, supporting Catalin Hosu, with all of his team”, claimed Gabriel Paslaru.
