Transelectrica, the Romanian electricity grid operator, has taken the first steps towards the implementation of Smart Grids and Intelligent Metering, objectives that are mentioned in the Europe2020 strategy on energy. Thus, Nova Industrial, a manufacturer of equipment for the power sector, has developed a complete online monitorisation and technical diagnosis for primay equipment system, named EMCSIT, for the Darste 400/110kV substation located in Brasov.
The Darste substation is part of the pilot project designed by Transelectrica, which wants online monitorisation and technical diagnosis tools for substations that are part of the national electricity transportation infrastructure, obtaining eligibility for smart grids implementation.
“Through the implementation of the EMCSIT system on high voltage electrical substations, the operator can avoid the deterioration or destruction of high voltage primary equipments, which could lead to disruptions in the electricity supply for large areas and can cause significant economic losses. The EMCSIT system is aligned to Smart Grids requirements”, stated Constantin Moldoveanu, General Director of Nova Industrial.
The online monitorisation system produced by Nova Industrial for the Darste electrical substation uses equipments that have been designed and manufactured in Romania.
Nova Industrial is the official consultant of Transelectrica, on the 2011-2014 period, for the “Electrical substations” area.
