The number of closed companies increased in the first 11 months of last year by 13.94 percent, to 32,115 companies, compared to 28,186 companies in the same period of 2017, according to data centralized by the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).
The majority of closers were recorded in the city of Bucharest – 6,289 companies (14.87 percent higher than the first 11 months of 2017) and in Timis counties – 1.725 (plus 23.57 percent), Cluj – 1.707 (plus 39.23 percent) and Constanta – 1.488 (plus 5.31 percent). The lowest number of dissolved companies was registered in the counties of Covasna – 192 (up by 26.32 percent), Harghita – 181 (down by 48.14 percent) and Mehedinti – 215 (down by 22.10 percent).
Reported to 2017, the largest increases in the number of dissolved companies were recorded in the counties of Giurgiu (plus 94.22 percent), Olt (plus 89.96 percent) and Suceava (plus 59.04 percent), while decreases were recorded only in the counties of Harghita (minus 48.14 percent), Dolj (minus 38.45 percent), Brasov (minus 26.57 percent), Mehedinti (minus 22.10 percent) and Ialomita (minus 18.09 percent).
The field of activity which recorded the most dissolutions of firms in the first 11 months of 2018 is ‘wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles’, where there were 10,078 dissolutions at national level.
In November last year 2,837 companies were dissolved, the highest number being recorded in Bucharest – 510, and in the counties of Cluj – 175, Constanta – 172 and Timis – 164.
